Typhoon consists of a diverse range of APIs and FEPs to support customer, operator and third-party product integration, which also enable complete administrative and regulatory transparency.

Inter Tote System Protocol (ITSP) is the most commonly used method for the delivery and commingling of racing pools throughout the world. Typhoon is ITSP compliant and is currently being tested with a number of wagering operators, including the NZRB’s pooling partners.

The Typhoon Cooperating Systems Protocol (CSP) is designed to allow 3rd party systems to integrate with Typhoon.  CSP assumes that a 3rd party system has its own representation of the customer and the customer’s associated wallet. CSP allows a 3rd party system to query Typhoon’s compendium for the current status of events, results, progressive and final dividends.  Additionally, a full suite of customer-related functions are available via CSP: such as the ability to create accounts, deposit and withdraw account funds, view a history of account transactions, set and reset passwords, change Typhoon’s player discipline settings, and update account details (to name a few).

The Typhoon Edge Server (TES) is a SOAP 2.0 compliant web service. It is designed for 3rd party systems wishing to query the current status of the compendium and provides transaction capabilities for placing bets, cancelling, and payouts and is designed to sit at the 3rd party’s location.

The Typhoon Syndication Protocol (TSP) is a peer- to-peer (P2P) networking protocol that allows a group of widely scattered and otherwise independent Typhoon wagering systems to cross bet, or co-mingle. TSP was designed to achieve two goals: firstly, to facilitate peer-to-peer cross betting; and secondly, to allow Typhoon to be massively scaled for large deployments. Using TSP, an entire Typhoon system can be replicated – that is, scaled horizontally – to satisfy even the most demanding wagering and gaming environments.

The Typhoon Portal Server (TPS) is also a SOAP 2.0 compliant web service aimed at the end user.  It provides all the information required for customers to be able to integrate with Typhoon in a well-defined and supported protocol. It also resides at the customer’s location.

Merchant Gateways - Currently Typhoon provides an out-of-the-box FEP to integrate with merchant services for all major banking and credit card services within Australia, which can be enhanced for other jurisdictions.
