Typhoon employs a number of Front End Processors (FEPs) to handle its sales channels. FEPs are configured to an N+1 sparing configuration and can be scaled horizontally. If an FEP fails, the system is still able to operate at the required level of throughout and response times using the remaining FEPs. The use of FEPs allows new delivery channels to be added to Typhoon with affecting change of any kind to the wagering host itself.
This means there is:
• a lower cost to develop the software,
• reduced costs for compliance testing;
• faster time to market, and;
• reduced risk to the host
It’s modular architecture allows for seamless integration of additional channels such as traditional terminal networks, self-serve terminals, call centres, interactive voice response, the Internet, and mobile. It also handles both cash and account-based wagering.
Typhoon lets a customer see betting information that has never been available before. While betting is taking place, punters can see progressive dividends for any bet type including all exotic multi-dimensional pools. For exotics and lottery-style pools, customers can see exactly what the dividend or first division prize will be if their wager is successful.
